The Hurricane eVibe
High-power electric seismic acquisition for deep subsurface imaging.
Low carbon seismic acquisition
Fully electric drive eliminates on-site fuel use and dramatically cuts emissions.
Battery powered
Battery-compatible power supply enables quiet, autonomous field operations.
Safe and robust
No hydraulics — fewer hazards, lower maintenance, dependable in the field.
High quality signals
Direct-drive electromagnetic actuators deliver repeatable, broadband sweeps.
Heavy-class electric source
Faraday's most powerful electric vibroseis.
The Hurricane eVibe is Faraday Geophysics' most powerful electric seismic source, designed for deep seismic imaging and large-scale surveys. The system combines the advantages of electric vibroseis technology with significantly higher force output, enabling high-quality seismic acquisition while maintaining a relatively small environmental footprint.
Like all systems in the eVibe family, the Hurricane replaces traditional hydraulic vibroseis technology with fully electric actuation, providing improved operational efficiency, precise signal control, and reduced environmental impact.
The Hurricane eVibe is designed for projects where greater source energy is required, while still benefiting from the flexibility and low-impact characteristics of electric seismic acquisition.

Environmental impact
Lower Environmental Impact
Despite its high source strength, the Hurricane eVibe maintains the advantages of electric seismic technology:
- Reduced emissions compared to conventional vibroseis systems
- Lower operational noise levels
- Efficient and controlled ground vibrations
- Smaller operational footprint
These characteristics allow powerful seismic surveys to be conducted with less environmental impact than traditional hydraulic vibroseis systems.
Powerful and Controlled Seismic Energy
The Hurricane eVibe delivers high force output and efficient signal transmission, allowing the system to generate strong and repeatable seismic signals for deeper subsurface imaging.
Because the signal is generated electrically, the system offers precise control over the sweep, enabling optimized acquisition strategies for different geological environments.
This combination of power and control allows the Hurricane eVibe to produce high-quality seismic data for demanding exploration projects.
Reach
Deep Subsurface Imaging
The Hurricane eVibe is designed to generate high-force and highly repeatable seismic signals, enabling imaging of deeper geological structures.
Depending on survey design and geological conditions, the Hurricane eVibe can image the subsurface to depths exceeding 4 kilometres, particularly in low-velocity geological environments.
This makes the system well suited for applications such as:
- Oil and gas exploration
- Geothermal reservoir characterization
- Carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects
- Regional geological investigations
