Low carbon
Electric drive eliminates on-site fuel use and reduces emissions to a minimum.
Battery powered
Battery-compatible power supply for clean, quiet, autonomous field operations.
Safe and robust
No hydraulic systems — fewer hazards, lower maintenance, dependable in the field.
Quality signals
Direct-drive electromagnetic actuator produces highly repeatable, broadband sweeps.
Ultra-compact electric source
Compact, electric, and built for agility
The Lightning eVibe is a compact electric seismic source designed for fast, efficient acquisition in environments where traditional vibroseis systems are impractical. Its lightweight design, flexible deployment options, and low environmental impact make it well suited for rapid exploration surveys, mineral exploration programs, and high-resolution seismic imaging.
It is engineered for agile surveys and high-resolution imaging of the shallow subsurface — from a few metres below surface, for archaeological or engineering investigations, down to around one kilometre for mineral resources depending on survey design and geology.
As part of Faraday's eVibe platform, the Lightning uses direct-drive electric actuators to generate highly repeatable seismic sweeps, with a significantly smaller operational footprint than conventional seismic sources. It can be deployed quickly, operated by small crews, and mounted on a variety of carriers — ideal for remote terrain, environmentally sensitive areas, and constrained access.

Engineered for the field
Designed for Efficient Field Acquisition
The Lightning eVibe is built around the idea that modern seismic surveys require flexibility and operational efficiency. Its compact size allows the source to be transported easily and deployed rapidly in the field.
Because the source is electrically driven and does not rely on hydraulic systems, operations are quiet, clean, and highly controllable — allowing surveys in areas where conventional seismic trucks would not be permitted.
- High-density nodal seismic surveys
- Rapid mineral exploration programs
- Engineering and infrastructure investigations
- Scientific and environmental studies
Flexible Deployment
The Lightning eVibe can be mounted on a variety of carriers such as small vehicles, tractors, or utility platforms. This allows operators to adapt the system to different terrains and project requirements.
- Rapid mobilisation
- Efficient acquisition in remote terrain
- Minimal ground disturbance
- Easy integration with nodal receiver systems
